Fettucini Aglio e Olio

On today’s edition of “I have no food in the house but shopping is pointless because I’m leaving in a day,” we have something not Asian (gasp!) This was really simple, really good, and used only pantry staples.
What you’ll need (already have):
1 box of long pasta
1/3 cup good olive oil
4 cloves of garlic
hot pepper flakes (optional)
salt and pepper
What to do:
-Cook the pasta according to the box.
-Meanwhile, crush the garlic cloves with the side of a knife (or chop it), put those along with the oil and hot flakes into a saucepan and heat until the garlic is browned, then remove from heat.
-Drain the pasta, reserving a little of the pasta water.
-Take the garlic out of the oil, put it back on the heat, and toss the pasta in it, adding a touch of pasta water to make it bind
-Plate, grind on some pepper andĀ parmesanĀ cheese, and you’re done.
